Symptoms and diagnoses do not define who we are

We experience symptoms, and multiple ways exist to understand their powerful impact on our lives.

My practice embodies several core beliefs:

  • Multiple pathways exist to improve our mental health.
  • Mental health is more than symptom reduction; addressing root causes leads to mental wellness.
  • Successful treatment empowers individuals to access their capacities for resilience, growth, and personal development.
  • Clinical knowledge and experience can provide a framework to promote self-awareness, yet it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Through connection, curiosity, and collaboration, we create practical treatment plans based on your lived experience, neurobiology, and personal mental health goals.

Conditions I treat

Some of the conditions I help with include:

  • Depression
  • Acute and Chronic Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Insomnia
  • Issues related to ADHD
  • Issues related to learning challenges
  • Issues related to Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Trauma
  • Relationship Issues
  • Life Transitions
  • Grief and Loss
  • Chronic Pain

While no single solution is right for all patients, many share concerns and symptoms.

Examples of how specific conditions may be approached include:

  • Reducing symptoms leads to improved daily living, a greater sense of well-being, improved relationships, and greater resilience.
  • Strengthening relationships leads to improved relatedness and self-advocacy.
  • Mindfulness practice and learning emotional management skills lead to improved resilience and stress reduction.

Examples of outcomes

  • Insomnia: improved sleep quality without medications using CBTi.
  • Chronic pain: Empowerment and reduced distress with education, mindfulness-based CBT, and trauma integration while collaborating with a more extensive treatment team.
  • Depression: Improved symptoms and life satisfaction through judicious use of medications, lifestyle changes, which also improved physical health, and psychotherapy to clarify goals and boundaries in relationships.
  • Anxiety: Reduced symptoms, development of a toolkit of mindfulness-based practices, enhanced social media management, and improved sleep.
